Music Teacher Gifts under $20

Music Teacher Gifts under $20

Whether it’s the holiday season, a recital, a birthday, Music Teacher Appreciation Day (March 12 – who knew?!), or any other special occasion, sometimes you just want to show your music teacher how much you appreciate him or her. Finding a good music teacher feels like you hit the jackpot, and you want them to know that. If it is the holidays, gifts and expenses can quickly add up. As a music teacher myself, I put together this list of meaningful music teacher gifts that won’t break the bank.

The best types of gifts usually do more than sit on a shelf. They either:

  • Make life easier (maybe something they’ve been wanting, but wouldn’t get for themselves).
  • Solve a problem (even small problems, like organization).
  • Spark joy consistently (like jewelry).

I have to start by saying, a handwritten card or letter can go a long way! If that’s all you are able to give, do that. Your music teacher will certainly feel your appreciation. Gifts from music students are never expected, but if you do want to give one, here are some ideas!

Another note – some of these music teacher gift ideas come from Etsy. Keep in mind that anything from Etsy is not going to be a last-minute gift, because they are handmade and/or come from small shops that don’t have the convenience of two-day shipping. However, if you are not in a hurry, I recommend supporting small business owners by purchasing from Etsy! There are so many thoughtful gifts there, they feel unique and personal, and you know you’re helping somebody else as well.

That being said, I tend to be a last minute gift buyer myself, and I know sometimes amazon is your best option.

  1. Music Teacher Planner

This one is ours – we created this planner specifically for private music lesson teachers. It has everything a teacher needs to stay organized! This is one of those “make life easier” gifts that a teacher might not buy for themself, but will really appreciate once they have it.

2. A sheet music page holder

Some books just do not want to stay open! You can also have these personalized on Etsy here (they do cost more).

3. A Guitar Pick Case

Aren’t these lovely? Keeping track of picks is like a full-time job by itself. This is definitely a problem solver, and it’s beautiful too!

8. Music Stand Light

You don’t think you need one of these… until you do!

9. Amazon Gift Card

Some people don’t love giving gift cards, but I’ve personally never been disappointed to receive one! This gives them the freedom to buy something they may have been wanting for a while. Just make sure to write a note to go with it!

Don’t forget that presentation can make a huge difference when you’re giving something small! We love these pretty gift wrapping ideas from The DIY Mommy.
